Our process
We turn your ideas into works of art…
1. Scope meeting
We meet with you to learn about the project; what are your goals and objectives? What is the project’s design aesthetic and what story would you like the artwork to tell? What is the timeline?
This is a collaborative process; together we share concepts and designs to reach a mutual understanding of your vision for the project and how you would like to proceed.
2. Historical research & custom shoot
Local & Yonder is unique, in that we bring your ideas to reality, creating a selection of custom artworks that represent your project and its local area.
In addition to offering you access to our extensive catalogue of works, we also offer a custom shoot service where we photograph your local area or another chosen location, to make your custom artwork truly unique to your environment and space.
Our history shares our sense of who we are and builds our experience of home and belonging; researching an area and it’s history is the foundation for our custom shoot. What are the locations that tell the story of an area? How do these locations create meaning and a sense of belonging for locals?
We research, capture and create a customised collection of iconic local images. We also access and collate images from Historical Societies, Local Councils & Libraries.
Together these images stimulate memories, stories, conversations & a sense of belonging; they tell the story of the place and it’s people.
3. Artwork selection
We meet with you to present the images we have captured on the custom shoot, as well as any historical images we have sourced for you. We will also present any images that we recommend for your project from our diverse and extensive collection of photography.
In addition to selecting the images you would like to use, we also look at all of the print and frame options available to showcase these works. We are not a stock-standard wall-art company; we have a team of skilled crafts-people enabling us to offer unique and innovative ways to display your project’s art.
4. Production
The quality of our images is matched by the quality of our production. We print and frame all of our work in-house, this ensures that the work we produce is of the highest quality. It also means that all of our work is fully customisable; we can print and frame an artwork to whatever size and style best suits your project’s space.
5. Installation
When we say end-to-end – we mean it, from concept to install. Once the artworks have been printed and framed, and the project site is ready, it is time for the artwork to be installed. Correct artwork placement and installation is a critical part of the process, our skilled artwork installation team, working with one of our creative experts, guarantees a quality installation.
